Members of the MVCPA represent a variety of law enforcement agencies, including
state organizations. What are the benefits of joining the state's oldest and
most respected crime prevention organization?
There are four types of memberships:
A. Regular - Individuals working in a non-profit agency, organization, governmental
body or community policing effort and individuals working in commercial enterprises
whose business interests are related to some facet of crime prevention. Regular
members have voting rights and may hold office in the MVCPA.
B. Associate - Persons who have a concerned and demonstrated interest in the
promotion and advancement of crime prevention or community policing in the
Greater Miami Valley. Associate memberships are available to non-law enforcement
personnel. Associate members shall have voting rights and are eligible to serve
on committees, but may not hold positions as officers in the association.
C. Honorary - This type of membership is available to individuals or organizations
who have provided outstanding services to the Miami Valley Crime Prevention Association.
Honorary members are not eligible to vote on association business or to hold office in
the association.
D. Lifetime - This membership can be bestowed upon members who retire while still
active in the association or by action of the executive board of the association.
Lifetime members have the same rights as regular members but are exempt from
paying annual dues.
If
you are interested in becoming a member of the Miami Valley Crime
Prevention Association, you must submit a request in writing to
the Secretary/Treasurer
of the Association. A majority affirmative vote of a quorum
of members present at the next regularly scheduled business meeting
(after receipt of the application by the Secretary/Treasurer) of
the Association will be necessary for acceptance/approval of all
membership. |
