About Us

MVCPA van The Miami Valley Crime Prevention Association (MVCPA) was founded in 1975 and is the oldest crime prevention organization in Ohio. The membership is composed of police officers, sheriff deputies, alarm and security personnel, and related state agency representatives.

The MVCPA is the only crime prevention association to serve the Miami Valley and continues to be the leader among regional crime prevention associations in Ohio. The MVCPA is often represented throughout the community at a variety of events and in parades.

In 2004, the association accepted a donation from the Washington Township Fire Department of a retired medic unit. Thanks to the assistance of Carl's Body Shop, the vehicle was transformed into a moble crime prevention unit that allows officers to present safety awareness and crime prevention information to the Miami Valley. One of the most unique displays the MVCPA has to offer is the "drug coffin."  Tobias Funeral Homes donated a casket while the members took it upon themselves to "load" the casket with a variety of drug paraphernalia that reminds visitors the dangers of drugs and alcohol.
